Itinerary
DAY 1: NEW YORK/MALTA
We depart on an international overnight to Malta. Dinner and breakfast are served on board.
DAY 2: MALTA
Upon arrival in Rome, we are greeted by our tour guide, and next board our deluxe motorcoach for transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Malta. (D)
DAY 3: LA VALETTA and THE THREE CITIES
In the morning we tour Valletta, Malta’s Sixteenth Century capital city, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch on our own, we visit the Three Cities: Vittoriosa, Cospicua & Senglea. Dinner and overnight in Malta. (B/D)
DAY 4: MDINA/RABAT
After breakfast, we depart for Rabat, home for centuries of religious orders including Franciscans, Dominicans, and Augustinians. Our next stop is the silent city of Mdina, a fortified medieval town in the center of the island. Dinner and overnight in Malta. (B/D)
DAY 5: MARSAXLOKK
After breakfast we visit traditional fishing village of Marsaxlokk and the megalithic temples of Hagar Qim and Mnajdra. After lunch on our own, we visit the Shrine of the Redeemer in Senglea to celebrate a Mass. Dinner and overnight in Malta. (B/D)
DAY 6: VILLAGES and SHRINES/ROME
This morning we drive around the island stopping in some villages and visiting some shrines. Then, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Rome. Upon arrival, we are greeted by our tour guide, and next board our deluxe motorcoach for transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B/D)
DAY 7: ROME
After breakfast we visit the Vatican City where we attend a Papal Audience (if available). In the afternoon, we tour the Vatican Museums and the St. Peter’s Basilica. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B/D)
DAY 8: ROME
Today we enjoy a full day tour of Rome. We see the Christian Roman sites and visit the three major basilicas of Rome. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B/D)
DAY 9: ROME/NEW YORK
After breakfast we transfer to the airport for our flight back home arriving the same day. (B)
