Day 1: June 3rd - ANCHORAGE/SEWARD

We depart JFK on Delta for Anchorage Alaska, arriving the same day. We are greeted by Holland America Staff and transferred to our deluxe motor coach for our transfer to Seward where we board our ship, the Westerdam. Seward was offi cially founded in 1903 by the railroad and completed in 1923. It was named after President Lincoln's Secretary of State William Henry Seward who engineered the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867. Our ship sails at 8PM and depending on our arrival, there might be time to walk along the seaport taking in the impessive landscaping and marine wildlife. As we walk around the ice free port, which makes it easy for ships of all sizes to sail in and out, keep an eye out for seals, sea lions, whales and chartered boats fi shing for salmon. Take some time to visit the one of a kind shops.

Day 2: June 4th - AT SEA

Full day at sea to relax, take part in the many ship board activities and watch for the different marine life “fl ying out of the water” or fl oating by on sheets of ice.

Day 3: June 5th - GLACIER BAY

We sail into the bay at 8:30AM and depart at 6:30 PM. Glacier Bay encompasses some of our continents most amazing scenery and wilderness. It is a National Park and World Heritage Site where we will experience the majesty and grandeur of its deep forests, glaciers and wildlife. Keep an eye out for brown bears, mountain goats, sea otters, sea lions, bald eagles and a variety of birds. National Park Service Rangers will board our ship to provide an exciting narrative about our visit. ** Please note we never leave the ship, we sail into Glacier Bay and slowly sail around the inside of the bay.

Day 4: June 6th - HAINES

We arrive at 6:30AM and depart 9 PM. Haines is a great port for people who love the outdoors. Visit Fort Seward, pan for gold, hike or fish. Visit the interesting museums, especially Hammer Museum, the only museum in the world dedicated to the hammer, a labor of true love. Visit the thriving art community and great restaurants, or go kayaking or whale watching. Shop the many store fronts.

Day 5: June 7th - JUNEAU (Capital of Alaska)

We arrive 8 AM and depart 6 PM. Juneau is a maze of narrow streets mixed with new structures, old storefronts and quaint homes featuring early 19th century architecture left over from the gold rush days. The waterfront bustles with cruses ships, fishing boats and fl oatplanes. Juneau has NO road access and is the only state capital that can only be reached by airplane or boat. Visit the famous St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, museums, and historic South Franklin Street with its great gift shops and restaurants. Take a helicopter ride to “walk on the glacier,” a once in a life time opportunity.

Day 6: June 8th - KETCHIKAN

We arrive at 11AM and depart 7 PM. Ketchikan is truly a unique place, with its early pioneer infl uences from when it was settled by three Native groups, Tingit, Haida and Tsimshire. Earlier settlers from lower USA and from Norway each brought their own traditions, art, and vast colors. Shop the many areas and shops that feature the different heritages. See where they fished, built boats, ran canneries, carved wood. Time permitting, go zip lining in the rainforest between tall trees over the salmon rich streams or take a flight over Misty Fjords.

Today is a full day at leisure cruising the Inside Passage, taking in the awesome sights and changing scenery. Make sure to take part in the many ship board activities.

Day 8: June 10th - VANCOUVER/JFK
