Day 1: USA

Today we depart the USA on our international flight to Munich Rome. Dinner and breakfast will be served on flight.

Day 2: Munich

Upon arrival in Munich airport we will be met by our escort and spend the balance of our day in the Bavarian region of Germany. During our drive we will have a panoramic tour of Munich. The remainder of day at your leisure to relax before we have dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight at hotel. (D)

Day 3: Oberammergau

The highlight of our visit today takes place in this tiny hamlet. We will have time to enjoy the beauty this historical Village Oberammergau. We will transfer to the outdoor theater to view this amazing presentation of the Passion of Christ as performed by the local villagers. Dinner and overnight in Oberammergau area. (B,D)

Day 4: Oberammergau/Innsbruck/Bolzano

After breakfast we depart for Italy. Enroute we will enjoy a brief stop in Innsbruck, where the scenery is magnificent, surrounded by the towering Alps, and an old city charm prevails. View the famous Goldenes Dachl, “Golden Roof,” built in the 15th Century for Emperor Maximilian's wedding the Triumphal Arch and the City Tower. Visit St. Jakob's Cathedral, a point of pilgrimage since the 16th Century. Then on to Bolzano where we will check into our Hotel. Bolzano is located in a lovely valley with vineyards set in the Italian Alps. Dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day 5: Bolzano/Venice/Padua

This morning, after breakfast we board our bus and continue our tour going South to Venice. *After lunch, a short drive north to visit the famous landmarks, including St. Mark's Square, the largest square in the city, San Marco's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, the Campanile, and the famous Clock Tower. Time for a gondola ride on our own before arriving in Padua to check into our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 6: Padua/Florence

After Breakfast we will visit the Basilica dedicated to St. Anthony, the Patron Saint of Lost Things and Causes, who is buried there. We will have time to visit his tomb, venerate his incorruptible tongue, his relics, and his clothing, which are displayed in a room reserved for numerous reliquaries. The interior is richly decorated with frescoes but its greatest art treasures are the Donatello bronzes at the main altar. Then on to the Cappella degli Scrovegni (Arena Chapel) to view the well-preserved Giotto frescoes of more than 35 Biblical scenes. We will then continue South into the Region of Tuscany and its Capital, the beautiful City of Florence. Arrival in Florence and have an Orientation tour of Florence, “The Renaissance City,” visiting the Duomo, Santa Croce Church, where many nobles are buried, and the Academy Museum, to see the famous statue of “David” by Michelangelo. We will have some time for shopping at the famous sidewalk vendors for the excellent leather goods, for which Florence is famous. Dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 7: Florence/Assisi/Rome

Breakfast at the hotel and travel to Assisi the town of beloved St. Francis. We will tour important sites that follow the Saint's life, including the beautiful 13th century Basilica built over his crypt. Other important sites include the Church of St. Clare, which houses her incorrupt body, the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, built over the Porziuncola, the start of the Franciscan Order, the thorn less rose bush and the cave where the saint retired for prayer. Continue on to Rome, check into our hotel, in time to have dinner in the Eternal City. (B, D)

Day: 8 Rome

After breakfast and morning Mass, we transfer to Vatican City to attend the Papal Audience (if available).The afternoon will be spent touring St Peter's Basilica, the largest church in Christendom, the Vatican Museum and Library, as well as the breathtaking Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo's Last Judgment. Dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 9: Rome

Today is a full day tour of Rome. We visit the Catacombs where early Christians hid to escape persecution, the Appian Way, Capitoline Hill, St. Peter in Chains, the Colosseum, and Circus Maximus. In the afternoon we visit the three major basilicas in Rome; St. Mary Major, one of the oldest churches dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, St. John Lateran, the former residence of the popes, and St, Paul Outside the Walls, built over the saints tomb. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B,D)

Day 10: Rome/Departure

Depart early this morning for Rome Airport for our return flight to USA arriving home the same day. We take with us memories and blessings to last a life time. (B)
