14 Day Pilgrimage to Prague, Germany & Switzerland with Rev. Quijano



Day 1 - 26 Oct: New York

Depart from JFK airport. Enjoy dinner and breakfast onboard.

Day 2 - 27 Oct: Prague

Arrive and transfer to hotel. Dinner in local restaurant.

Day 3 - 28 Oct: Prague

Full day tour in Prague. Have walking tour in in the Old Town We will also see St. Nicholas Church, the Astronomic Clock, and the Prague Castle district where we tour St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George Basilica, Loreto Church, Strahov Monastery, and Wenceslas Square. You will visit as well Discalced Carmelite Church of Our Lady Victorious in Mala Strana to see The Infant Jesus of Prague or Child Jesus of Prague. Dinner in hotel.

Day 4 - 29 Oct: Prague - Dresden

Transfer to Dresden. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of Dresden, once considered by many to be the most beautiful city in the world. Pass the renovated Semper Opera House and a statue of Martin Luther. Visit the New Green Vault, as well as the magnifi cent Zwinger Palace, now home to the works of such luminaries as Raphael, Durer and Titian. Of course, you will visit the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Dinner in hotel.

Day 5 - 30 Oct: Dresden - Bamberg

Transfer to Bamberg. Arrive and have half day guided tour. Wander through the historic Old Town, named a UNESCO World Heritage site for its well-preserved medieval buildings and feel, which was spared any destruction during World War II. See the Bamberg Cathedral, a Romanesque structure with four imposing towers, which ranks as Bamberg's most famous landmark. Dinner in hotel.

Day 6 - 31 Oct: Bamberg - Koblenz

Transfer to Koblenz. Arrive and have half day guided tour in the old town. You will see the Church of the Sacred Heart, the most impressive Neo-Romanesque building in the area. The church was consecrated in 1904 and completely burnt down only 40 years later during the WWII. It was rebuilt again in post-war time. Another church you will see is Church of Our Lady with origins that date back to 5th century AD, this is the main parish church in Koblenz.

Day 7 - 1 Nov: Koblenz - Our Lady of Schoenstatt Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany- Nuremberg

Transfer to visit Our Lady of Schoenstatt. After this continue to Nuremberg. Dinner in hotel.

Day 8- 2 Nov: Nuremberg - Erding Regensburg - Munich

Have half day your in Nuremberg. Tour highlights of the tour included the Old Town include the city walls, Craftsmen's Court, St Lawrence Church, Marketplace with the Beautiful Fountain and Wishing Ring, Old Town Hall You will visit as well the Catholic church Frauenkirche- an example of brick Gothic architecture, it was built on the initiative of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor between 1352 and 1362. On the way to Munich stop in Erding to visit Church of the Holy Blood. We continue on to Munich. Dinner in hotel.

Day 9 - 3 Nov: Munich

Visit the old town, admire Marienplatz, the Town hall and the tall tower of Franuenkriche Church - Cathedral of Blessed Virgin Mary. Afternoon is free for leisure. In the afternoon have free time. Dinner in local restaurant.

Day 10 - 4 Nov: Munich -Wieskirche - Monastary Andechs - Oberammergau

Transfer to Oberammergau and on the way visit 2 catholic sites like Wieskirche - the Pilgrimage Church of Wies is an oval rococo church, designed in the late 1740s & Monastary Andechs - the Benedictine priory and erstwhile abbey of Andechs. Arrive in Oberammergau - the site of Passion Play, which is performed every 10 years since 17th century engaging only the local people from the village. Have short panoramic tour and dinner in hotel. Overnight.

Day 11 - 5 Nov: Oberammergau - Ettal Abey - Einsiedeln

Visit the Ettal Abbey which has only 800 inhabitants which is old Benedictine abbey found in 1330 as small convent. After the reconstruction due to a fi re in 1744 in turned into an impressive baroque construction which is on of the most important sanctuaries in the Alps today. Continue to Einsiedeln.

Day 12 - 6 Nov: Einsiedeln - Lucern

Have tour in Einsiedeln Monastery Church and Library Duration: 75 - 90 mins. The guided visit takes you into the church and library with its treasures. Over 1000 years of monastically history become alive during this guided tour conducted by the monks themselves. Continue to Lucern. Dinner in hotel.

Day 13 - 7 Nov: Lucern - Zurich

Dinner in hotel. Half day guided tour including Lion of Lucerne, a sculpture in Lucerne, “the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world”. Enjoy a walk in the Old market, Hirschenplatz and Kommarkt forming an ensemble of cobbled, fountained squares ringed by colourful facades. Get to the famous Chapel Bridge, said to be the oldest woodbridge of Europe. Continue to Zurich. Enjoy an orientation tour of Zurich seeing the Swiss National Museum, Old Town (Alstadt) and the Zurich Opera House.

Day 14 - 8 Nov: Zurich

Transfer to airport to depart.
